plan A meaningful farewell

Navigating funeral arrangements amidst profound grief can be incredibly daunting. I'm here to provide compassionate support, meeting you where you are, in whatever emotional space you find yourself in. I come to you, and I listen. Learning about your loved one and then supporting and guiding you with ideas and structure for a meaningful and poignant ceremony in line with your wishes. I can be involved as much, or as little, as you like.

Whether you seek guidance for a loved one, or you wish to pre-plan your own funeral, I tailor my assistance to your needs. Planning ahead can alleviate the burden on loved ones, ensuring your wishes are honoured without added stress during a difficult time.

I am here to work with you in whatever way you need, being involved as much or as little as you wish.

As soon as possible, I will meet with you in person. Along with getting to know your wishes and learning about your loved one, I may provide resources of readings, poems, prayer and music, suggestions for rituals, ideas of different ways you can incorporate themes or people into the ceremony, and practical guidance on speakers and timing.

I collaborate closely with funeral directors, providing comprehensive support throughout the process, including writing a personalised eulogy if needed. In addition, I compile and communicate action items and timelines and serve as your main contact before and during the service.

It is my utmost priority that the ceremony is meticulously crafted with deep consideration, and conducted with professionalism, dignity and respect.

the process

When you meet someone deep in grief

slip off your needs

and set them by the door.

enter barefoot

this darkened chapel

hollowed by loss

hallowed by sorrow

it’s grey stone walls

and floor.

You, congregation

of one

are here to listen

not to sing.

0

Kneel in the back pew,

make no sound,

let the candles

speak.
